1:1 Tuition

Bookings and Payment

  • Lessons will be charged at the agreed rate per hour, payable monthly in advance, by bank transfer

  • Parents/Guardians/Students will be invoiced on the 20th of each month and payment must be made before the 1st of the next month

  • If payment is not made by the 1st, a reminder will be sent. If payment is still not received then the lessons will be cancelled and the slot will be offered to the next Student on the waiting list

  • Fees for any lessons arranged on an ad-hoc basis are due by bank transfer at least 24 hours in advance

  • of the lesson

  • Advance weekly payment may be accepted upon discussion and agreement between the Parent/Guardian/Student and Tutor

 

Timekeeping

  • The Student is booked in for a particular time slot, the Tutor will be available for the full duration of the agreed slot, if the Student arrives late, the time will only be made up at the end of the lesson, if no other Student is booked immediately after the lesson is due to end

  • If the Student does not join the meeting in the first 15 minutes and there is no communication, then the Tutor will leave the meeting. However if the Student joins after this, the Tutor can be contacted and will rejoin the meeting for the remainder of the session

  • If the Tutor is late for the meeting, then any time missed will be added onto the lesson (if no other Student is booked immediately afterwards) or a subsequent lesson

  • The Tutor may offer a different time to the Student, if available, the Student is not obliged to change time but may take it if suitable

 

Cancellation

  • The Tutor requires a minimum of 48 hours notice for cancellation. This notice period allows the slot to be offered to someone on the waiting list or someone who books on an ad-hoc basis

  • Any pre-paid lessons cancelled by the Student/Parent/Guardian, with less than 48 hours' notice will not be refunded but may be rescheduled only if there is an available time slot that is suitable for both the Student and the Tutor in the same calendar month as the cancellation

  • Any pre-paid lessons cancelled with more than 48 hours' notice, will be rescheduled at a date that is convenient for both the Tutor and the Student or deducted from the following month's fees

  • If the Tutor is obliged to cancel a lesson then the lesson will be one of the following: rearranged for a mutually convenient time, refunded or deducted from the following month's fees

  • The Tutor reserves the right to terminate tuition if frequent cancellations occur or if the Student is not fully committed

 

Sickness

  • If the Student normally has face-to-face lessons but has an infectious illness then an online lesson will be offered as a substitute, either at the same time or at a time that is suitable for both the Tutor and the Student. If the Student is not well enough to work online either, the normal cancellation policy will apply

 

Limitation of Liability

  • While the Tutor will endeavour to ensure that the Student makes satisfactory progress, this cannot be guaranteed, and the Tutor cannot be held accountable for the academic success or otherwise of the Student

  • The Tutor accepts no liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage, foreseeable or otherwise, including any indirect, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from the use of the Tutor's services or any errors or omissions in the contents of the Tutor's learning materials

  • The Parent/Guardian/Student and the Tutor reserve the right to terminate lessons should they no longer be considered beneficial to the Student

 

Proceeding with registration indicates acceptance of the above terms and conditions

Bookings and Payment

  • Upon booking group sessions, the Parent/Student/Guardian will be invoiced. The Parent/Student/Guardian must pay the full £60 (£45 in December) up front in order to secure the place. The place is not guaranteed until payment is received and confirmation of payment is sent to the Tutor

  • Payment must be made by bank transfer, account details will be attached to the invoice, please use the Student's full name as the payment reference

  • On the Friday before each new Block, the Parent/Guardian/Student will receive an email link to the Zoom sessions, the link will remain the same for all 4 (3 in December) Sunday sessions in each block, at the chosen time

  • The Student is booked in for a particular group slot, the Tutor will be available for the full duration of the agreed slot, if the Student arrives late to the group, they will be allowed entry but we will not have time to go back over what they missed

  • If the Tutor is late for the meeting, then any time missed will be added onto the lesson

Cancellation

  • If the Student cannot attend a session on the day, they can contact the tutor to receive the work from that day. The Tutor will mark any work completed from missed sessions, if returned to the Tutor within that week

  • No refunds will be given for any cancellations for group sessions. If cancelled, the work from the sessions will be sent to the student and if returned to the Tutor, the Tutor will mark the work

  • If the Tutor is obliged to cancel a lesson then either the lesson will be rearranged for a mutually convenient time or the cost will be refunded/credited towards future bookings to the amount of £15 per lesson cancelled

Code of Conduct

  • It is expected that all Students will conduct themselves in a respectful manner during live Zoom sessions as the Tutor endeavours to operate a safe place for all Students online. Any behaviour or discussion that is deemed inappropriate or detrimental to others will not be tolerated. Such behaviour will result in the Student being removed from the meeting and banned from returning. No refund will be given in this instance

  • Students are asked to enter the meeting with only their first name visible. They are also asked only to use the chat box on Zoom to ask for help or discuss the questions

  • Students must have their cameras on at all times so the Tutor can monitor who is present. Students are asked to keep their microphones off unless they are asked to turn it on for discussion or support, in order for everyone to hear the input
